Essential*Blue Fall 08 Final Project

For the last 5 weeks I was challenged in so many way doing the essentials*blue fall 08 course.

Doing all of this – readings, audio, videos, blogs etc – in English was an overwhelming experience. It kind of explain why I was always late on my posts.

But I am mainly challenged and overwhelmed by the content I was exposed. I have to admit that I am still processing all of that and I know I have a lot to think about.

The paper attached is my final project. It is tentative of incorporate some important parts of what i learned through these weeks.

It is a ThanksGiving service that will happen in two weeks at my church. In Brazil we have a strong catholic background and the relationship between catholics and protestants is pretty tense from both sides. So when we ‘got converted’ we left everything that could remind us of the masses and that liturgy.

One of the areas I was specially challenged was about corporative readings of the Bible and liturgical prayers and I used both.

I am also including something on the sphere of justice. We will all bring food to give away after de service.

The communal aspect besides the songs is the split in groups of 3-4 people. We will share motives of thanksgiving and pray together. We will also have a corporative meal at the end of the service.

The Supper will be served and we will do it using the ‘Thanksgiving Prayer’ that Dan shared on this website.

All of this will happen in our ’santuary’. We will decorated it with candles and use special lighting to bring a atmosphere of introspection and adoration.

You must be asking why I am explaining everything if the program is attached. The reason is the language. I wrote that in Portuguese, the language of my heart and the language we will use.

I hope as you look at the paper you recognize what I said.

Finally, I must say that it was a honor to be part of e*b fall 08. I am sorry for my delays and my difficulties with communication. I was absent of most of the interaction but I read and listened to everything later.

I love you guys and I am so excited about the impact of this course to my personal journey but also with how it will impact the churches I am involved with.

Blessings,

Milton
